Demo of Stone Painting

Acrylic paints are water soluble paints much like watercolour paint. But acrylic dries very fast and are water-ressistant when dry. So they make perfect paint for stone painting.

Step 1: A sketch is done with pencil on the stone

Step 2: Your pets is painted with their unique colors and markings

Step 3: After the paint dries, it is sprayed/varnished a couple of times to protect the paint. This takes about 3 – 4 days to dry

Step 4: A photograph of your stonepet is e-mailed to you for your approval and payment.

Demo of Pastel Pets in Portrait.

Pastel are powdered color pigment compressed into sticks. The colors are pure and vibrant. Pastels are applied to a painting with fingers therefore no brushes are involved. The pastel paintings are usually mounted under glass, but separated from glass by a mat. Care must be taken during framing as rough handling will dislodged the colors from the surface of the painting.

Step 1: The subject is sketched on pastel paper

Step 2: Filling in the colors. I love painting the eyes of a subject as this is the most interesting part. The whole portrait comes alive when the eyes are done beautifully. Then comes the nose.

Step 3: More colors

Step 4: A photograph of your portrait is e-mailed to you for approval and payment.
