About the artist
Hiya. My name is Suzi Chua. I am
a Malaysian stone and pet artist living
in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. I am married to
a wonderful husband and have three beautiful sons. I also have a cat
and a dog to complete my family.
As with all children, drawing starts at
home and in school. Art was my favourite subject as I constantly won
prizes for art competition. I love painting and drawing animals
since I could remember.
Animals are the colors of our planet.
Each breed is unique and beautiful. I am happy that I have the
skills to make the animals come alive on paper or stones. I started
painting as a hobby. In the beginning, I would give my masterpieces
to close friends and relatives as gifts. I would paint anything I
like but most times, I enjoy painting birds. I love our Malaysian
birds. They are all so beautiful and so very very special. I
enjoy creating artwork that people love and it brings me great
pleasure to see them hang it proudly on their walls. Pastel paints
are very exciting to explore and their colors are fantastic.
Discovering the magic of stone
paintings
Actually, I discovered stone painting
by accident. My hubby bought some stones to enhance his garden and I
remember wanting to put some color on these white stones. So I
painted flowers on them. They look really beautiful. Then I painted
frogs and toads and butterflies and after some time, the animals of
the universe started appearing…it was really fun. Stone painting is
truly a very unique work of art and one of a kind!!! These beautiful
work of art can be used as decorative items, door stopper,
paperweights or as gifts for any occasions. I remember putting some
stone rats in the garden and someone screamed when she saw
it…thankfully she didn’t stomped her foot on them.
Art for
pets
Today, I am also a pet artist because
of snowboy, my maltese dog. I started painting pets portrait for
friends and now I like to have the opportunity to give all pet
owners a chance to own an original painting of their beautiful
furkids. The love and bonding between a pet and owner is so very
amazing. Sometimes, pet portraits are commissioned by friends who
wants to remember their beloved furkid who had passed on. It is
moments like these that gives me great meaning to my work as an
artist.
No, there are no diplomas or degrees in
art hanging on my wall to certify me an artist. I am just an
ordinary woman painting extraordinary work of art. To my family,
relatives and all my friends, I thank you for your love and
encouragement. To God, I thank you for my artistic gift and I will
continue creating colors in this life.
Thank you and God Bless. May each of
you have the opportunities to do the things you want to do in this
life!!!
